On January 16, 2023, BSF (Border Security Force) in Meghalaya intercepted a truck loaded with 20 cattle that was being smuggled into Bangladesh.
The truck was stopped by a BSF Mobile Check Post at Sonapur bridge in the East Jaintia Hills district, but the driver accelerated and fled towards Umkiang.
Despite the driver’s escape, the BSF was able to seize the truck and its cargo. They are remaining vigilant in the border region to prevent illegal activities and ensure peace and security.
