In a bid to resolve the long-standing border dispute between Assam and Arunachal Pradesh, a regional committee meeting was held today at the Assam Administrative Staff College. The meeting was attended by Sri Jayanta Malla Baruah, Minister of Assam, and Sri Tumke Bagra, Minister of Arunachal, along with local MLAs and senior officers from both sides.
The meeting was aimed at finding a permanent solution to the ongoing border conflict between the two Northeastern states. The meeting was jointly presided over by Sri Jayanta Malla Baruah, Minister of Assam and Sri Tumke Bagra, Minister of Arunachal Pradesh.
“Attended the Assam-Arunachal Pradesh Border Regional Committee Meeting held today at Assam Administrative Staff College. We deliberated on finding a permanent solution to the border dispute between the two states,” Assam Education Minister Ranoj Pegu tweeted.
The Assam-Arunachal Pradesh Border Regional Committee Meeting has been a significant step towards achieving lasting peace and stability in the region.
Discussions have been taking place between the governments of Assam and Arunachal Pradesh in an effort to resolve the border disputes. Last year on July 15th, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma and his Arunachal counterpart Pema Khandu signed the Namsai Declaration, committing to finding a solution to the issue in the near future.
