In July, a total of 69,523 public grievances were successfully addressed by various states, with Sikkim emerging as the frontrunner in efficiently resolving the highest number of complaints within the northeastern region. This achievement was highlighted in an official statement released on Wednesday.

The ranking, unveiled by the Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances (DARPG), was presented within the 12th monthly report of the Centralised Public Grievance Redressal and Monitoring System (CPGRAMS) for the month of July 2023. Notably, CPGRAMS provides a platform for citizens to raise their grievances online.

The DARPG evaluates and categorizes states and Union Territories into four distinct groups: northeastern states, Union Territories, as well as two additional sections for states, categorized based on the volume of grievances received. Within the Union Territories classification, Lakshadweep secured the top position, closely trailed by Andaman and Nicobar Islands, and Ladakh, as detailed in an official statement from the Personnel Ministry.

In states that received fewer than 20,000 grievances, Uttar Pradesh emerged as the leader, followed by Jharkhand and Rajasthan. Meanwhile, in the category of states encountering over 20,000 public grievances, Telangana clinched the top spot, followed by Chhattisgarh and Kerala.

The number of pending grievances within state and Union Territory administrations, which were received through the CPGRAMS portal, has now decreased to 1,79,077, as indicated in the same communication.

This ranking aligns with the Government of India’s commitment to aid states and Union Territories in enhancing their grievance resolution processes, encouraging a comprehensive evaluation in comparison to their counterparts, as highlighted within the statement.
