Arunachal Pradesh is making significant strides in Indian agriculture, with remarkable achievements in the production of Kiwis, Khasi Mandarin Oranges, Dambuk delicacies, and large cardamoms.

Chowna Mein, the Deputy Chief Minister of Arunachal Pradesh, proudly shared on Twitter that the state has become a frontrunner in Indian agriculture.

According to the minister’s tweet, Arunachal Pradesh has achieved a remarkable milestone in Kiwi production and the state now produces over 7,000 metric tons (MT) of Kiwis annually, and an astounding 80% of India’s Kiwi supply originates from Arunachal Pradesh. What’s more, these Kiwis are certified organic, demonstrating the state’s commitment to sustainable farming practices.

Arunachal Pradesh is not only excelling in Kiwi production but also establishing itself as a powerhouse in the cultivation of Khasi Mandarin Oranges. The state boasts an impressive production volume of nearly 84,000 MT of these flavorful oranges.

Furthermore, the state is broadening its horizons by venturing into international markets with its exquisite Dambuk culinary offerings, reaching as far as the United Arab Emirates and Bangladesh. In a virtual flag-off ceremony last November, Lower Dibang Valley (LDV) District Commissioner Somya Saurav marked a momentous occasion as the inaugural shipment of 6 metric tons of Dambuk oranges set sail for the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Qatar.

In addition to these achievements, the state has also carved out a significant place in the national landscape as the second-largest producer of large cardamoms in India.
