In a significant development aimed at bolstering infrastructure and connectivity in Arunachal Pradesh, Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways, Nitin Gadkari, announced the approval of seven bridge projects under the Setu Bandhan Scheme. These projects, with a cumulative cost of ₹118.50 Crores, are expected to catalyze socio-economic growth and enhance the overall quality of life in the region during the fiscal year 2023-24.
Gadkari emphasised that these bridge projects align with the government’s commitment to enhance connectivity across regions and foster economic development. Furthermore, these endeavors signify a pivotal step toward improving the overall quality of life and promoting socio-economic growth in Arunachal Pradesh.
The approval of these seven bridge projects is expected to have a transformative impact on the state, facilitating better transportation and connectivity for the residents of Arunachal Pradesh.
The approved bridge projects include an RCC Bridge over Pacha River at Lachang connecting villages in East Kameng District, an RCC Bridge from Goang to Donigaon Village spanning the Pacha River in East Kameng District, three bridges on NH-313 in Lower Dibang District, a Double Lane Steel Composite Bridge at Kharsa in West Kameng District, an RCC Bridge at Pikte Point spanning the river Sigen in Lower Siang District, an RCC Bridge over Ngopok River in East Siang District, and a Steel Composite Bridge over River Panyor connecting villages in Lower Subansiri District.
