In response to a recent bout of flu and on the advice of his personal physicians, the Dalai Lama has made the decision to cancel his scheduled travel plans for November. According to information posted on the official website of the Dalai Lama, his physicians have recommended against traveling, as it could hinder his complete recovery.

As a result of this decision, the Dalai Lama will not be making his planned visit to Sikkim in the upcoming month. Additionally, his scheduled trip to South India, which included Bylakuppe and Hunsur and was originally slated for the latter part of November to mid-December, has been canceled. However, there is no change in the Dalai Lama’s intended visit to Bodhgaya, which is set to commence in the second half of December.

According to reports, despite these health-related changes to his travel plans, the Dalai Lama continues to remain engaged with his well-wishers and followers. On Wednesday, he attended long-life prayers offered in his honor and appeared joyful as he waved to the members of the crowd. The ceremony commenced with the recitation of praise to the Buddha, with Ganden Tri RinpochƩ and Kewtsang RinpochƩ presiding over the proceedings.

Wednesday’s event marked the culmination of seven days of preparations, during which monks recited prayers. The Dalai Lama received prayers for his long life from students, staff, and former students of the Institute of Buddhist Dialectics, as well as members of Sera JĆ© Hardong Khangtsen, the Tibetan Chamber of Commerce, and the Lha Ngam Phun Sum regional organization.
